Okay, so I haven't been updating my blog regularly! Besides being caught up in doing my work, catching up on whatever sleep I can get, or turning friggin 20, i've been spending my time being addicted to Grey's Anatomy, which by the way, i just finished all the episodes i got..and now, i'm bone-dry on GA! =(

Beginning with what I could not celebrate with my family..or friends.. or anybody i truly wanted to celebrate with..

CHINESE NEW YEAR '08!

As usual, we cooked what we hopefully wished was a good version of chinese food.. Alicia and i (yes! i did cook..stop thinking i pushed it all to alicia!) cooked Hainanese chicken rice! seriously! Other than the food, there wasn't much to it..

and then came Valentine's day..and surprisingly..I got alot of gifts *blushes* ~ but most of em' from friends.. o well~ I get what i can!

I didn't really expect anything on that day..seeing as it was on a wednesday..and i kinda was all upset over ending my teenhood (although in mind, i'm far more matured).. LoL! I spent most of my time watching grey's anatomy, and amazingly, i didn't get any homework that day..honestly! I didn't have to do anything that day!

Around 9 sumthin..alicia asked me to follow her to the library to print out some stuff..and i did.. waddya know.. Surprise party!

Wanted to stab the cake... stoopid alicia..didn't need to emphasize the age!

My weirdest present! Two catfishes and 3 shrimps (one died already)..

Finally.. there was the Snow day on Friday (7th march!) ..ahaha school got called off...and a bunch of us went shopping (not me obviously) with a lovely 1 1/2 hr drive each way! lol! O..and I found out today that the opposition team against BN won some states, which i'm guessing is pretty good huh ;) w00t! Go DAP!

ALSO! I just lost an hour... to Daylight savings...crapz.. less time to enjoy my long weekend...sheesh.. which means, for all of you back home... that we are only 13 hours apart! not 14 anymore!

Yeah, haven't exactly been updating my blog~

Anyway, I don't have much to write about, onli some stuff about yesterday!

BINGO NIGHT:

CAB (Campus Activities Board) held Bingo Night last night, which is held every semester i think! Anyway, I didn't win anything last semester, sad but true.. AND TRUST ME, if you saw the prizes sometimes, you will WANT to win! Screw the others! Some of the prizes are like brand new television sets, DVD players with surround sound systems, DVDs, 24 pack soft drink, new comforters, $15-$20 giftcards, etc..!

So, last night I won a DVD called nanny *something* starring scarlet johanson, but since i wasn't really into it, I swapped it with one of the other winners for a $20 pizza hut giftcard! WOOHOO!!! Which happened to be used for my dinner tonight! haha!

I gain a friggin alot of weight! *sigh!*

Homework is killing me (as usual).. but the fun part of doing projects is:

HaHa! It was for a World Civilization class; choose a commodity, and trace its origins.. AND i had alicia in my group..which explains the choice of commodity.. LoL!!

Other than that, papers, exams, so on and so forth..

WEATHER:

FREAKING COLD! It snowed recently, not really long tho... the lowest the temperature ever got to was negative 6 celsius.. So my mom would be happy to know that i finally used the Long Johns she got me..just the pants tho.. haha! I do not know how the northern parts of the world can stand it!

Once, alicia, kristina, amy, and i had to go to Fort Smith (a city about an hour and a half away), and it got REAL slippery on a hill.. alicia lost control of her car! really..we were going like less than 10 miles per hour (16 km/h) already..but the back part of the car kept swaying! long story short, a car got turned over...but not alicia's.. some truck fell into a ditch~

Full Moon in Singapore

Yup, we survived the Singpore trip without MUCH planning (especially transportation)! Unfortunately though, my cousins were too nice..they offered to send us practically everywhere and they kept on feeding us!!! I'm telling you, I had a bloated stomach throughout the whole trip! So it wasn't really an independent trip... but we tried rite? =P

The first day wasn't really much to brag about... By the time we reached Lavender Street (our bus stops there) it was in the late afternoon! And we got lost! Our phones couldn't call out, and it was like NO one in singapore knew their own country code (i was so..WTH!). Finally, thanks to some cab driver and his "accurate" directions (rite..turn left my arse) we found our way to my cousin's place!

Let's see,

I called Expedia.com using Skype (it was suppose to be a toll-free number) to see whether I can change my flight date. Blardy buggers, took away Euro $2.00 from my Skype credit and I'm still stuck with the same flight! Bah! I tried all the dates, 13th to the 20th! None of them had any Air India flights except on the 14th... which by the way, would have brought an extra charge of U$3000 for a one way ticket! Wuttha! So, 45 mins and a failed-American-accent later, I gave up and told the young-cute-voice girl (in the most pityful and disappointed manner possible) that I guess I had no other choice but to fly with Air India on the 12th and survive through the 11-hour transit from Los Angeles to Houston! ARGH!

You just wait and see...

Also, I've been planning the routes and transport in Singapore to save time from getting lost. What I learned from my "planning", is that I would make a horrible tour guide. I give up! I am now putting my hopes on my two Malaysian-yet-Singaporean-frequentters friends of mine! PLan plan plan plan! Plan where to eat, visit, eat, play, eat, shop, eat, shop...etc...eat!

Today:

Ben had an urge for KFC since forever, so he sms-ed Joel and Harold like at 4 in the morning?! LoL! Anyway, we went for lunch (DUH! KFC!) and had a good time spoiling Harry Potter for Harold! HaHa! I really really tried my best to speak "code", but Joel and Ben couldn't be bothered, so...Wot the Heck lah! (gg!) Poor Korea-boi... no need to read already~ heheh

Unfortunately for me, I was with guys who could only think about computer games. So, DOTA was inevitable. O well, it wasn't like I had anything else to do...

FYI: I'm kind of sick... A runny nose and sore throat = soon-to-be fever! Gosh..sick!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter is at an end! After waiting several years for the final book to be within my grasp, I cannot help but feel abit (Just abit, mind you!) aimless! What other book do I have to patiently wait for, to keep my mind running rather than just focus on the "muggle" world around me?! Nah, I'm not obsessed about Harry Potter, but I certainly do feel sad there will be no more tales of magic from the awesome author, J.K. Rowling.

The Deathly Hallows is, without a doubt, a book you cannot put down until you have read its contents thoroughly. (Maybe I'm abit blinded to the fact that I have been waiting for this book since forever!). I can't really say much, seeing as many people haven't read the book yet, but I can tell you, it's totally not what was expected! The idiotic rumours that people spread around kind of sets you off guard about what really happens, so it'll actually maybe benefit you or just confuse you further (like it did me).

I open at the close; "I am about to die"

One thing that really touched a nerve on the day I was suppose to be enjoying my book, was the daring stunt pulled by Tesco and Carrefour. How is it possible that previous Harry Potter books (e.g. The Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Pheonix, The Half-Blood Prince) are more expensive than the FINAL book?! How could they set a price, lower than the MAJOR book sellers like MPH and Popular, without properly notifying the public (a few advertisments a few days/weeks before is not counted!) seeing as MPH has been taking pre-orders since GOSH-knows when! I don't really care about the fact I paid RM39.00 extra buying from MPH, but it's the audicity of having the grand opening of the most-awaited book sold at a price and at places that just does not seem right! Good then, for those people who are typical asians of wanting to hold on to every single penny and not see the bigger picture of anything except the "bargain" they had just accomplished.

Earlier, Penguin managing director Eddy Teo urged the hypermarkets to practise good business sense and fair trade.
“The public must understand that bookstores don’t make much profit because their source of income is only books while the range is diversified for hypermarkets,” he said.

However, MPH and the other bookshops made a mistake of taking the Deathly Hallows of the shelves because customers (who did not pre-order) had no other choice but to resort to buy from those defiling booths that have the RM69.90 posters plastered basically everywhere. Good to know, that MPH and the other bookshops have finally stopped their boycott though!

Alas, for those individuals that just don't see the reason of wanting to buy any Harry Potter book because of stupid excuses like "You're just making J.K. Rowling richer!", I am appreciative of good and creative work. If YOU had written a book that took all your blood and tears, that you had to constantly focus on for years, creating backgrounds, plots, themes and characters from nothing BUT scratch, and at the end of it, not be paid...how the effing would you feel?! DUH, so what if she's the richest author in the world! So what if she's laughing in our faces as we line up with money in our hands to purchase her books! It's not like we're just handing over our hard-earned cash to her you know!

LoL This is a pretty long post on just a book... But it's a good way to let-slip my opinions without people telling me to shut up about Harry Potter haha!

I'm looking at my plane ticket back to the States, the words "Enjoy Your Trip", on the cover of the small convenient pocket thingy, are taunting me... it's so depressing! I still have time.....rite? *SOBS*

Ho hum..

Today (July 14th):
YinMay wanted to go take some "artistic" pictures for her assignment, so off we went with Harold to Titiwangsa lake under da HOT friggin sun (my fault for wearing jeans and black tho!). Anyway, YM was trying to capture random moments with something about light and shadow, candid, and subjects??.. LoL! Unfortunately, Harold and I weren't too keen on being photographed. No idea what she actually took, but I hope she got what she wanted anyway~

NOTE: The Eye of Malaysia.. is so disappointing! I was picturing some Hi-Tech futuristic building or something..something like the Eye of Mordor! HaH! Was I too be surprised when I found out it was JUST a ferris wheel that's 17 stories high! Booooo! (Yea, maybe I wasn't really patriotic or curious enough to find out earlier what exactly the Eye was..!) I really really really wonder how this was suppose to attract tourist for the "Visit Malaysia" thing!! I mean, it's just a ferris wheel............ KL Tower is so much more advanced-looking and entertaining!

Continuing... We went back to Tmn. D and went to Ezy's pub, and played pool! Gawd, I su*k at that big time! **I'm really sorry yinmay! I caused us two games!!** But I had fun...losing.... heh! Mamak for dinner...worst Roti Tissue so far.. having an upset stomach because of that! I can't name the place tho.. I might be tracked down and forced to eat it again!!! NOooooo!

Good thing i found out today is.. Singapore trip is still on! w00t!

I Found A Reason

This blog site should be officially wiped out from the "Blog world". Why? Because My gawd! It's been ages since my last post, and that was before my finals (which by the way, I did pretty good in! HaHaHa *self-praise is no praise*)! HaH! I'm left with less than a month for summer (sad, but true), and some of you may not know yet (whoever the heck still reads this "always-updated" blog of mine), I'm back in Malaysia! Sweet Ol' Polluted Malaysia!

I haven't replied a few emails (Shy Ann, I truly apologize! But I will explain it to you in my oh-so-finally-replied email)

2 months back here has really taught me alot! I missed home like HELL when I was there, I missed even those moments when I had nothing to do but sit in the car and just "chill". I could continue on with the list of things I missed, but let me get straight to the point: I don't think I will miss anything again. Food, of course, it's usual to crave "Asam Laksa", "Nasi Lemak", and so on and so forth, but honestly, it was a waste of time "missing stuff".

I'm home, on a FRIDAY night, with nothing to do but MAPLE/DOTA. Freakily enough, I picked up DoTa on my visit back home. Everybody has said to me, at least once, that I wasted my summer by coming back here; Am I to believe that? Did I really waste 30 hours of flight time, thousands of dollars from my quitting that "hell hole" of a job, and on the air ticket?

Maybe...

Anyway, not too sound so EMO anymore, I just wanted to "awaken" this sleeping blog by updating ANYthing on the blog

Okay, TODAY:
I watched Harry Potter with.... (again, I am restricted!). Anyway, despite what ANYONE says, I liked this movie. Yes, they cut ALOT of parts, but you can't expect to watch the entire book can you? Yes, they altered some important parts, but how else would you expect the story to continue with gaping holes?
So, just chill, watch it like you've never read the book. I liked it... Cheerz to J.K. Rowling!

I have officially got 8 more days till my finals start. (OMG!)

Anyway, I am going to get my driving license next Monday, and I will be driving a blardy BIG Equinox for the test!! I am so not going to make it... I like to be closer to the ground! *haih*

Don't you realize, that when it is nearing the end of a term, lecturers/teachers/professors pile up the work and last-minute tests! I mean, we have to study for the finals also, but NOOOooo~ They have to give me a week of total freedom, and the week before the finals, PILE it UP like crap! I'm exhausted from the semester, I just want to get it over and done with.....

Okay, I've got to run in the cold (it's been raining like siao nowadays) outside, and my lousy professor is not going to cancel class or change agenda! T.T Why....Why.....

I am so so so LaZy to blog..and since CNY! LoL! But anyway, things have changed abit here and there, like the most noticeable one is me packin' on the pounds. other than that, study-wise is okay, our finals is in a month and after that, we mlsians are sent of for child labor! YUP!

I miss mlsia T.T really! The food, the people and my house!! I've never been sooooo home-sick in my life! (mommy take me home!)

Chinese New Year in US

The Gang

The Chinese New Year dinner passed like 5 days ago, but cny is suppose to last for quite awhile rite? It doesn't feel like it here though! The Ang Mos were really nice; some wished us happy cny and some even learned more about it... Mandarin is becoming almost popular with certain ang mos now~ (Yes Yes i know! I still don't know how to speak that donkey dialect!! GGGGrrrr!)

One good thing about the dinner..the BEST thing of all...IS THE YUMMY FOOD!!! MMMMMMMMMmmmmm Seriously! OMG.. I've only been away for a month, but eating curry chicken was like heaven! I loved everything...except the barley and steam fish! I even loved the plain white rice!! I gobbled down 3 full plates of curry chicken, rice, okra (ladies fingers), potatoes and kurma chicken!! MMMMMMMMmmm~ After that, someone brought Konyaku (I'm not sure how to spell it) jelly with longan and lychee inside!! Gosh..that was the best jelly ever!

It doesn't look like much.. but trust me; it tasted like a piece of heaven~

Other than all the laughing and talking and eating, the dinner went pretty well. Of course, pictures were taken~ O, the hispanics had some Raeggaton dance thing next door! Of course our good mlsian food caught their noses and tummies~ They practically 'kau tim'ed everything! Heh!

Yea, they did invite us to dance, but us conservative ppl just decided to laugh at those who were dragged out onto the floor being "mushed" between bodies~

Poor Lay Hoong~ ;) (she's like this tiny skinny chinese gurl~ imagine her ordeal!

The actual Chinese New Year day was pretty boring~ A group of us girls gathered whatever we had (well, actually, whatever they had..i just brought myself) and started munching

It was so pathetic! LoL! but so cute~ We only had ONE mandarin orange (from florida or something; my friend's bro brought it) and like tiny tiny squares of sweet meat! SUPER TINY! And cheese cake~ o and Kuih Kapet (i think that's how it's spelled)!

After that, we started playing cards..no gambling mind you! ;) I taught them how to play "Bullsh*t" and we've been playing it everynight since~ LoL!

I've got my FIRST midterm paper tml for American History..yup..and i've only studied one quarter.. =( Hating history!! :(

Missin the Chinese New Year holiday

Yup, been so busy till I couldn't keep up with updating my blog :) LoL
Nothing much has happened~ just that alicia and I moved into the same room!! And we got a fridge :) We're planning to get a tv; but *somebody* don't want to fork out the green :P ahah (jk!)

This morning, it was negative 6 degrees! I mean WTH?! It was suppose to snow last night; which it did but for like what, 2 hours?!

Alicia and Amy (our cute lil thai chick) were studying for an exam they had today, and when it started snowing, they kept checking every 5 minutes to see whether the roads were covered (=.=)"! HaHa! After 3 in the morning, it stopped snowing..Sad but true!

Yup, there they are.. Hopefully wishing it would snow harder!

The next day, it was -6! and I had to get up for an 8oclock class =( Freezzzzziiinnnn~!)
Life hasn't been that much fun here.. Although I am consistently surrounded by friends and food (yes, i'm a total pig now.. eat every 2 minutes!).. There's nothing to do on weekends besides catch up on those NEEDED hours of sleep lost from studying and last minute work!

I miss the chinese new year holidays...and the songs! and the ang paus..and the thought and planning of "accidently" visiting friends' houses! Our ONE and ONLY ang pau is pinned to our door to show the ang mos our chinese new year spirit!

Valentine's day just passed~ Alicia got a flower (carnation!) from *ahem ahem!* ahahah LKS! (yinmay, you should know who~)... And the girls on our floor are really sweet~ giving us chocolates and tiny valentine's day cards :)

The malaysian gang and well, the 'Varsity' organizers (the people who we will work for during the summer) are planning a "CNY dinner" on friday! Chinese food with a lil' mixture of thai and other types! I'm definitely not planning to be one of the cooks, although alicia is, with a few others also lah :) So, i'm going to walmart to represent alicia (who has class till late) to buy some stuff :P HaHa Walmart trips are now so frequent~

Winter Wonderland

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Yes my peeps, it's snowing in CLARKSVILLE! And YES! I finally got to touch and see and PLAY with snow! It's really a sight, and I advice all you malaysians to at least SEE what snow can do to a normal street~ It's super beautiful~

At 8 am today, I was late (again) for American History, and it was friggin cold when Alicia and I were walking to our allocated buildings. Like -6 degrees man! (the actual temperature was -6.45 degrees). After that class (which i almost fell asleep too), it was snowing very slightly. Seriously, i wasn't very excited because it just felt like tissue paper falling down on you. As the afternoon progressed, it started pouring man! And everything was being covered! Before dinner, a few of us took some pics lah (of course all mlsians onli, which ang mo hasn't seen snow b4), so alicia should have some pictures to post up lah! ^^

Anyway, I was in the library with nicole (a friend), supposedly finishing up my article review for Econs (yes i finally dropped American National Gov.!) when the liberian comes up to us and says, "School's been closed down!" HaHaHa! However, i'm still stuck in the library, TRYING to finish up my paper and other assignments as well. But super happy that I got one day off (also because i HAD an exam on thursday!)

HEY YM, I also got Thursday off!! How coincidence leh!

I'm sad...!!! Really! Who knew 'My Dream' land could make me sadddd?!

Yup, I'm finally in America (well I didn't just reach, but I didn't have time to blog earlier). The temperature is always negative, and the worst was just last night when it was negative seven!

Let me explain the situation here (prepare a box of tissues now):
I'm currently living in this really nice apartment (it's only meant for seniors!) and at no extra charge even! BUT it's like way at the end of campus totally opposite from where all Mlsian's (including Alicia) is staying! Plus, I'm staying with a girl who I really dislike (the same girl who was on the journey with me)! She can be really gross at times and I just won't go into details lar. Okay, on to the next sad and depressing matter (to me anyway). My subjects totally has NOTHING to do with my major! I'm here to learn math, and yes, I understand it's a liberal arts college; but hello! Anyway else but AMERICAN HISTORY and AMERICAN POLITICS (Democracy and All that CRAP!). I'm suffering already with the workload because I have to catch up on the week I wasn't here. I just don't get politics and the constitution (no matter the country!)! I'm so going to try my best to drop it but it's like a 30% chance I would be able to because I arrived late! And I'm also applying to stay in the dorms, but alot of controversy lah!

Okay.. enough about complaining! That's all I've been doing since I came online. I did make new friends, which actually they're Alicia's punya lar..But Sharing IS Caring! I even have an Ang Mo friend (nothing really to be proud of)~ O, and I did play basketball ONCE since I came;

~btw, I can't join the basketball team you guys, it's all REALLY tall girls and they are all REALLY good players (like really good)

Sad to say, but I'm actually very fortunate I'm online now. I still have loads of work to do (which I should probably be getting too) but I just cannot stand being so "away" from so many ppl back home. I only called my parent's ONCE since I got here, which is really bad because I had loads of problems and I didn't call them to say I solved them (well, sort of anyway!). And I didn't even call Yin May and Lvna yet! I hate this ULU state and ULU town! Movies also so hard to watch!

Well, I got to continue chatting before classes start.

Small treasures

Someone special said to me once,
"When you buy us or treat us expensive stuff, you make us feel like charity" (not exactly those words)

When this person said that, I was TOTALLY shocked! I mean, for me, spending money on friends and loved ones is just a way of showing, "Thanks! You've been an awesome person to me". I guess I realised this was my own shallow mistake, as they do say, 'Money isn't everything'.

For example, my christmas presents last year (2006) was the first time I actually went way over budget. I love my friends alot, and I even bought the guys presents (which I didn't use to). It didn't really matter to them as much as it mattered to me!!! I thought those presents would've at least showed I appreciated ALL of them and (okay, Yes this IS really shallow) I was hoping to be treated better.

As you can tell, I didn't get the "response" I wanted. Instead, a memorable lesson learned (which is indeed more worthy!)! DON'T EVER SPEND SO MUCH ON FRIENDS (LoL Just Kidding!!!). Okay, continuing to my point;

As many of you know, I'm leaving to the States! And of course, it's tradition to give the departing person a gift! And I did receive plenty of "early" angpaus from my relatives (Thank the Lord!). Plus, a few presents and free meals from friends~
It was then I realised, even though the gifts I received were small and miniscule, they meant a great deal to me!

This is what Chai Ann gave to me, and I really really love it!
It's cute, colourful, and it means alot because she took the trouble
and time to do something for me!

This is what Alvina did for me as well! (from Ben, Harold, Joel, Yin May).

See, the gifts wasn't as GRAND but it definitely was meaningful. I really appreciated each and every "departing" gift...

The time has come

Another late night (or rather early morning) and I'm still awake trying to fill in as much as possible in my day! It would maybe be more pleasant or correct if I were to sleep early and wake up earlier. But then again, what do I have to wake up for?

My parents are working and My friends are unavailable.

Pathetic isn't it? I haven't had any physical contact with people other than family for days now. Trying to look at it in a positive way, this might be helpful for when the time of "separation" comes. Glad to say however, my day wasn't a total waste! I went "Tech" shopping! I went with an intention to purchase an English Electronic Dictionary and ended up with gadjets that aren't even related! LoL! It's Low Yat Plaza (laarrr), I can't help it if I get materialistic!

Okay, I know I've betrayed my principal of "Why Waste Money?!" but I just had to get this! An IPOD! (I know, old news~ But heck, it's me wei!). It's 30GB and unfortunately, it's WHITE! I asked for BLACK (which by the way, they did have), but I got WHITE! (.....) Anyway, I also got what everyone wants nowadays (well, everyone I know), an External Hard Drive! It's totally awesome! 120GB and it's so small and portable! I've already bumped Ben's 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' and other movies unto it! So thanks alot yar Ben~

After my spending spree, my parents took me and my brother to Kajang! I guess they really want me to Enjoy my LAST few days here (HaH!) And when that was over, I came home and did what I always do on lonesome nights... I Mapled! (Childish, yet it shows desperation!)

O, during my Maple "time", my mother came in screaming (really! I'm not exaggerating!!) at me to pack my stuff. Alas, I had to confront my future. Okay, I put off packing to comfort myself from the reality of me moving and being on my own! So so so so very sad.

Having plan to bring one HUGE bag and one camper's backpack, I started filling in the bags with my clothes. As my HUGE bag began to get fatter and fatter and as there were a hundred and ONE things waiting to be packed, I realised (with the help of my mother's nagging of course) that I needed a BIGGER than HUGE bag. So tomorrow, it's BAG hunting! (Nyehehehe!)

My HUGE "arse" bag filled to the max ..............a few things not yet packed!!

Well, I have to be up in an hour or so (it's 6.02 am), to get ready to apply for my VISA!!! It sounds so FINAL!...

Martin Luther King

We've all heard of the great, Martin Luther King and his famous "I have a dream" speech. Honestly, I don't know who he is, and why he's so famous. Okay, so I did abit of research (yes, that's my life when I don't go out).

Martin Luther King was an actual PEACEMAKER. He was a leader for the American Civil rights movement and a Baptist minister. The youngest man to be ever awarded the Nobel PEACE Prize (I'm just surprised that there IS such a thing!). He promoted non-violence and equal rights between races. Just a brief intro. on who is this great legend! (Taken from our ever-so-reliable Wikipedia)

Anyway, why did I choose this great man among many others to be the first post in the beginning of a new era (eitherwise known as my new blog)?

It's because OF HIM, I get to leave a day later to the land of Opportunity! Martin Luther King Day is on the 15th of January (because he was born on that day). So, the American Embassy is CLOSED! Nyahahahah! I can't make my visa on that day!

I truly love this man!
